Up and Down
This project explores how high-rise schools can work effectively in Dubai’s urban context, prioritising vertical circulation efficiency and outdoor access for different age groups.
Play for everyone
The third-floor play deck means primary students climb just two flights to reach outdoor space, whilst secondary students travel down from floors six to three – creating logical separation and manageable movement patterns.
Structural Intelligence
Locating significant span elements, such as the pool, at a high level significantly reduces structural costs on lower floors. Meanwhile, the play deck accommodates an FA Under 16 approved pitch with full external play, social, and trim trail circulation supported on a standard grid.
Max the top
The elevated sports facilities enable secure community access during evenings, positioning the school as a genuine neighbourhood resource whilst protecting teaching spaces below.
